A vision for the future that's part of our heritage...
SBSA has always kept the future front and center when it comes to long term planning. Energy saving ideas have been part of the SBSA approach since the design of the plant as innovative programs have enabled SBSA to save millions of dollars through improved energy efficiency. Without continuing to invest in wastewater treatment facilities, California faces a potential $14.4 billion dollar shortfall in infrastructure needs. To keep with its tradition of innovation, SBSA plans a multi-million dollar capital improvement plan to protect the $1 billion facility that serves us today, while ensuring service to the communities of South San Mateo County well into the future.
