Through regulations and outreach programs, SBSA works with businesses in the service area to facilitate the convenient discharge of wastewater that is acceptable for treatment at the SBSA facility.

Recycled Water

When adequately treated and thoroughly disinfected, treatment plant effluents can be reused for many purposes such as landscape and agricultural irrigation and industrial applications. Recycled water is becoming a key part of California's overall water supply.

SBSA has been a leader in studying the feasibility of carrying out recycled water projects. It is a policy of SBSA to provide technical and institutional leadership for the community it serves on all subjects related to water recycling. SBSA is prepared to coordinate public and private participation among the entities within the SBSA service area to assist in the development of local recycled water programs.
